A Nile Dahabiya is a traditional wooden sailing boat that offers a luxurious and charming way to experience the Nile River. Dahabiyas are typically small, with only 5-10 cabins, which means that you’ll have a more intimate and personal experience than on a larger cruise ship. The boats are also powered by sails, not engines, which gives you a more peaceful and authentic experience.
Dahabiyas are very safe. They are built to withstand the strong winds and currents of the Nile River, and they are always accompanied by an experienced crew. The cabins are spacious and comfortable, and they all have private bathrooms. The boats also have a sundeck, where you can relax and soak up the sun while enjoying the views of the Nile River.
In addition to being safe and comfortable, Dahabiyas are also very luxurious. The cabins are furnished with high-quality Egyptian fabrics and furniture, and the bathrooms are stocked with luxurious toiletries. The boats also have a dining room where you can enjoy delicious traditional Egyptian cuisine.
Finally, Dahabiyas are also very charming. They are a great way to experience the romance of the Nile River, and they offer a truly unique and unforgettable travel experience.
Luxor, Esna, Edfu, Kom-Ombo and Aswan
10:00 from your hotel in Luxor
The trip begins with a pick-up at the address of your choice in Luxor at 9:00 AM. You will be met by your representative and transferred to Esna (50 kilometers south of Luxor). In Esna, you will embark on a dahabiya, a traditional Egyptian sailing boat, for a 4-day cruise along the Nile between Esna and Aswan.
The sail to Edfu is a stunning journey that takes you from the golden sand of the desert to the lush and green forests of date palms. The scenery is unchanged for centuries, and it is a truly magical experience to see it all unfold before your eyes.
On the third day of your Dahabiya cruise, you will relax in a deck chair and watch the riverside pass by while the crew sails to Gebel El Silsila. You will then explore the rock-cut chapels of Seti I, Ramesses II, Merenptah, and Horemheb, as well as remnants of the monuments in the old sandstone quarries. During lunch on the sun deck, the Dahabiya will sail towards Kom Ombo, where you will go ashore to see the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. In the afternoon, you will set sail for the island of Maniha, where the Dahabiya will moor for the night. This island is one of the many lovely spots for a refreshing dip in the Nile. The waters are relatively shallow and the scenery is fantastic, it is also very peaceful and quiet. Dinner will be served on a beautiful spot on the banks of the Nile, under a twinkling night sky.
On the fourth day of your Nile cruise, you will sail to Daraw, a small village that was once the last stop on the famous 40-day desert road between Sudan and Egypt. In the morning, you will take a walking tour of the village and visit the markets, where you can haggle for souvenirs and local handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will continue sailing to the Nubian village of El Koubania, near Aswan. You will spend your fourth and last night on board your cruise ship.
The Dahabiya journey comes to an end in Aswan after breakfast on board. Guests will be transferred to any address in Aswan by private A/C vehicle. There are many reasons to book with EasyWay travel. Here are a few of the most important ones:
